Myrto Papailiou belongs to the new generation of Greek fashion designers. She was born in Athens and at a really young age committed herself to the arts. She studied dance professionally, while, in parallel, completed her studies on Informatics at the University of Piraeus, focused in fashion technologies. Somewhere in between the creativity of dance and the integrity of informatics, she found out one of the most spectacular applied arts…fashion! As a result she decided to study fashion professionally and become a fashion designer. She completed her studies on fashion and costume design, in the- two year- Fashion Design & Construction program of Pansik School of Fashion. At the end of her studies, she, happily, received the Award of Excellence by her school and an additional scholarship! She then studied Social Media & Communication at Pansik School of Fashion for one year, while, in parallel, was working as intern in the field of fashion. Afterwards, she decided she wanted to travel abroad and complete her BA in Sustainable Fashion at Copenhagen School of Design and Technology (KEA).
In terms of professional experience, Myrto has worked as an Intern in a pattern cutting office in Greece, where she first began her Kimono'Surrealism S/S '13 Collection. She has also designed costumes for a few theater performances. While studying in Copenhagen she had the chance to work as a fashion design intern at Mark Kenly Domino Tan, which was a very educational experience. As far as Social Media and Communication are concerned, she has worked as an intern in a greek brand called Akira Mushi and she is working as a freelance fashion jurnalist in parallel with her career in design. At this point, Myrto is working as a professional Senior Designer in Greece. Download the CV of Myrto Papailiou here. |
